Author and illustrator Kali Stileman will make her debut at Olympia.
Kali Stileman runs The Square Card Company, which she set up when her children were small.
It sells cards, wrap, bags, boxes and colouring books in the UK and abroad. Stileman has also licensed her designs, working with Unicef, Wittards and smaller companies on all sorts of products from ceramics and toys to wall art and calendars. She is also an acclaimed author and illustrator of children’s books published by Random House, something she loves.
The Square Card Company will make its debut at BLE 2013, bringing Stileman's distinctive designs and illustrations. For example, characters include Peely Wally, a splodgy bird who lays a small spotty egg high up in a tree, the branch wobbles, the egg rolls and her book tells the story of its adventure around the jungle.
It was in the final four books shortlisted for the Red House book awards 2012 and has been selected to go in the book start bags that all children in the UK receive at 18 months. The Sun described her illustrations as on a par with Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Time for Tea Polly Wally follows with the story of a baby and her search for her supper, and Kali’s Big Book of My World is an award-winning compendium of concepts for pre-schoolers which has been translated into 20 different languages and won the Right Start gold medal toy award for 2012.
