PPC Enterprises is the commercial division of the Picture Production Company Group and is exhibiting for the first time at BLE this year.

Monty PythonThe company is in it first year and has amassed a number of key brands. Mark Hurry, director of legal and commercial affairs at PPC says: “We felt that a strong platform was needed to showcase these to the licensing community.”

The event will serve as a launch pad for the firm’s new CGI series, The Pinky and Perky Show. It features the antics of the famous pigs and is rebranded and reshaped for 21st century.

The series will air on CBBC and BBC One this autumn in a key early afternoon slot. Hurry says: “The show is a sure-fire winner. The characterisation is fantastic and the production values are incredibly high. The whole team at PPC are delighted with Pinky and Perky and we know it is going to be a huge hit.”

Martin Yaffe will be launching Pinky and Perky figurines and playsets and a game for the Nintendo DS will hit the High Street in 2009.

The Hive – a cartoon about a hive of bees made by the same team as Pinky and Perky – is among the other properties on show on the PPC stand.

The evergreen Monty Python will also feature. Since the original shows were aired, the appeal of the Python brand has led to the making of a series of feature films and stage shows, including Spamalot, the musical based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which is currently playing across the world and has won three Tony awards.

The firm will also be promoting the innovative new concept 3DTV, the next step forward in TV technology, for which PPC are developing content. 3DTV needs no special 3D glasses and allows viewers to feel part of the action, rather than just watch it.

Hurry says: “We wanted to showcase our brands in a compelling way and have the opportunity to meet with key licensees from across the globe and in doing so introduce our brands to worldwide markets.

PPC will be attending all the key licensing and trade shows such as Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Bologna.

Hurry is excited about the future and says: “We have an incredible range of talent at PPC, we do everything from production to licensing and marketing and we have an enormous amount of skill and experience within the company.”
