Stephanie Dyment has so far had a successful career as an artist and illustrator in the greetings card industry.

Stephanie Dyment DesignAfter graduating in Textiles in 2000, she worked at Woodmansterne Publications for seven years. During her time there, she developed a range called StephanieRose inspired by a business trip to Japan and incorporating her love of colour and pattern, which she still designs for the company.

This range became very successful and it won ‘Best Trend Card Range’ at the Henries (accolades in greeting card publishing), where Dyment also won ‘Most Promising Young Designer’.

After leaving Woodmansterne in 2007, the designer founded the Stephanie Dyment Design Company with a view to licence the designs to new markets. She says: “Friends had always told me they could see my designs on other products, so alongside my fiancé, Ashley, I thought I’d give it a go.”

Having spent its inaugural year working on card and gift wrap designs, the company is now ready to branch out and licence the designs to new products.

Brand Licensing Europe will be the company’s official launch. Through designing the greeting card range, Dyment has managed to build up a comprehensive portfolio of desirable, feminine, trend led artworks that would lend themselves to various products including soft furnishings, stationary, chinaware and much more.

Dyment explains her future plans: “I am developing new work including a range of characters suitable for baby products, which I will be showing at Brand Licensing Europe. The show seemed the perfect opportunity to get in front of so many possible clients all under one roof, rather than cold calling each one separately.”

There are many new exhibitors in the art and design sector of the show this year, but Dyment says: “We hope we have something just that little bit different.”

Exhibiting at a show in itself will be a new experience for the company, but the firm is hoping to exhibit at other shows this year, but is keen to gage reactions at BLE first before making any decisions.
