Brand Manager – Rainbow Designs – London, UK

This is a brilliant opportunity for you to work with some of the most iconic children's characters, including Winnie the Pooh, Paddington Bear and Peter Rabbit. Primarily based out of our client's Hammersmith office you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director as the, acting, Marketing Director. You will be nurturing the company's brand and building on a great reputation for the production and distribution of children's gifts. Location: London, Hammersmith Office, but mobile and available to work at least 2 days per month from the Fareham Office, or as required. Reporting directly to the MD who is also acting in the capacity of Marketing Director , your prime responsibility will be for supporting the MD in the management, custody and development of the Company's valuable brand. In this role you will:

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years' Brand or Marketing experience in the Toy, Baby and Nursery or Gift Industry sectors
  • Excellent spoken, and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy, and analytical skills
  • Experience working with MS Office products including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
  • Highly motivated and passionate about working within the toy industry
  • Ability to plan own work, managing and prioritising multiple brands and projects
  • Able to deliver to projects of a high quality to tight deadlines
  • Team player able to collaborate across functions and teams (including Sales, Product Development, and Management), including building relationships with a variety of external audiences
  • You will need to be flexible, able to adapt to change and think on your feet in this face paced role
  • Able to travel
  • Experience with Online, PPC and Social Media marketing an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Managing Director (MD)
  • Will need to work from the company's Fareham office 2 days per week or as required
  • Develop and implement Brand Plans in line with Company Strategy and Gross Margin requirements
  • Work with Product Development and Sales Teams to formulate, develop and implement effective Range Plans
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Brand Performance reports and Brand Business Plan review meetings
  • Assist in the creation, development and implementation of appropriate A&P and PR plans
  • Create Brand Merchandising Solutions, POS and Support Materials
  • Assist the MD and Sales Director in the coordination of the Licensing function within the business
  • Assist in the preparation of regular company brand updates and market Intelligence (competitor and industry trends) presentations and in the formulation of new Licence pitches and renewals as required
  • With the MD manage the Trade, Digital and Social Media marketing functions building and maintaining necessary relationships with external customers, agencies and suppliers
  • Work with the Sales Director and Team to formulate, prepare and implement appropriate Brand Marketing, Product and Sales support plans and presentations
  • Work with Product Development Manager and Team to formulate product, packaging and creative briefs appropriate to Brand Plans
  • With the Sales Director, develop and coordinate direct Retailer Brand Support programmes and activity where required
  • Organise, manage and coordinate all company Trade Shows, Catalogues and Events. including Sales Conferences
  • With the MD prepare, support and implement expenditure budgets and plans for:
    • Catalogue & Literature
    • Digital Online & Social Media
    • Brand related Merchandising Support Activity (excl Individual Retailer Support)
    • Trade Shows and Events
    • Trade Advertising and PR
    • Travel & Subsistence
