New Italian licensing firm now fully operational and aiming to develop original brand projects.

A new independent company has opened up in Italy - TeamWorks will be looking to develop origianl brand projects in the territory and overseas.

The company is headquartered in Milano, with a subsidiary in Rome, and has appointed Maria Romanelli as its vice president. Romanelli boasts some 20 years of experience within the international licensing business, including stints at Copyright Promotions, Warner Bros, Saban and Jetix Consumer Products Italy.

The company sponsored the recent Kids Licensing Forum at the Bologna Children's Book Exhibition at the beginning of April.

"The TeamWorks objective is in fact to place itself in the Italian licensing business, offering a team service for operative solutions to partners, foster synergies and co-marketing activities among licensees and optimise proposals to consumers," explained Romanelli.

The firm's portfolio will include a mix of Italian and international brands. Among these are Arittown, teenage lifestyle brand Jaja, design concept Withit, Bflower, Metazoidi, Little Princess and new Italian fashion brand Lucchetti di Ponte Milvio.

Within the next five years, the company is aiming to have a 20 per cent market share of the licensing business. It is already in negotiations with international partners, both for representing in Italy established brands in other countries and for launching Italian brands abroad.
