Rob was a lovely, lovely man and in common with so many other people I was extremely fond of him, his is a very sad loss and my thoughts are with his family
Rob was the life and soul of meetings. Full of energy and passion and dedicated to the cause. I so enjoyed working with him and will miss his trademark grin. Such sad news.
Rob was the life and soul of every room he walked into. Fantastic at his job and fantastic with people. We will miss him always
I always had a laugh with Rob, sincere condolences to his family, a sad loss at such a young age
As others have noted Rob was a 'real' character in our industry. I always looked forward to our meetings and will remember some great nights out with him. He will be remembered with fondness by a lot of people and I am sure we will always smile when thinking about him. RIP.
A true gentleman, full of life, ambition and tenacity. He will be missed by everyone that had the opportunity to meet and work with him. My condolences go out to Emily and Alexander. My thoughts are with you both at this time.
I knew Rob from the days of WARP records and the shop on Division St. I will never forget our journey to the Reading Festival when he blew my mind with a tape promo of Nevermind, 6 months before its eventual release. Very fondly remembered.
I first met Rob whilst I was at WB when Max brought him in to meet with me. My first thoughts were how can I manage two larger than life characters in the same room together? We went on to do much good business together. A well respected businessman who will be very missed. Thoughts to his family xxx
I'm shocked and saddened by Rob's death. He was a great man to work with, professional and intelligent, a great loss to his family, friends and peers. Goodbye Rob, you will never be forgotten. xxx
I knew Rob like many others did from his time at Warp. Such a great guy with a huge personality. It’s such a sad loss and Sheffield is a lesser place for it
Unfortunately could not make it up to Sheffield today to say "goodbye". We had some fun times and Rob will always be in our hearts. Thankfully he is no longer suffering and we can forever remember him as the fabulous chap we knew. Rob is sorely missed and thoughts are with Emily and Alexander. xxxx
Lost touch with Rob (Eddie as we used to call him) when he left Warp Records but we had some right gud times together in the early 80's going to punk gigs at the Marples, having mad weekends in Blackpool & generally just gettin' pissed and havin' a laff down town. Very saddened by his death and just wish we could have stayed in touch.
Am shocked and saddened by this news. Will miss Rob dearly. Knew him from the Warp days when he was the go to man for indie and punk rock/hardcore releases. In fact half my record collection is stickered with his little ditties about the artists. Wish I could have seen more of him. Gonna miss his smile in a big way.
