Firm opens its first international office in LA as part of its ambitious expansion.
The maker of Toby's Travelling Circus, Komixx Entertainment has opened its first international office as part of its expansion in the US.
The firm now has a base on Sunset Boulevard in LA, as it looks to build its profile in the US television, film and computer gaming industries, in particular high-end drama for teenagers.
Komixx has teamed with US media company, Great Guns, to explore content for the computer games industry by extending its franchise of established IP.
"The model for IP and rights-owning companies in our segment has shifted considerably," said Andrew Cole-Bulgin, joint CEO and head of film and TV at Komixx. "The focus needs to be on successful franchises with potential to create not just long-term broadcast success, but retail success on a global scale.
"Working with Great Guns, a company with a long reputation for innovation, high calibre creative solutions and superb production values, was viewed as a natural extension to the work we are doing in the UK."
Laura Gregory, founder of Great Guns, added: "Komixx is a really exciting partnership for us."
