Egmont's boys lifestyle title to feature comic strips and competitions for Spooky Skaters brand.

Fun Crew's new Spooky Skaters property is to feature in Toxic, Egmont's boys lifestyle magazine.

A series of comic strips will be launched with a competition and news piece in the latest issue (which hit newsstands yesterday, April 23rd).

Fun Crew is offering prizes to Toxic readers including a custom designed Spooky Skaters skateboard and copies of The Skate Park After Dark, the first Spooky Skaters book published by Scholastic.

"Spooky Skaters works very well as a comic strip," said Stuart Harrison, artist of Spooky Skaters and director of Fun Crew.

"I illustrated the Scholastic book entirely in this style. Kids look for picture clues when they are learning to be proficient readers and they delight in finding tiny added details, especially if they are funny or irreverent."

Toxic's senior editor Matt Yeo added: "We're always looking for exciting and rib-tickling new comic content to add to the magazine, and we know from research that comic strips are incredibly popular with kids. We feel Spooky Skaters is a cracking addition to the title and will be a big hit with Toxic readers."
