MIPTV figures released

Figures show slight increase in number of people attending TV content marketplace.
A total of 13,360 people attended MIPTV this year, according to organisers, Reed MIDEM, including representatives from more than 4,550 companies in 111 countries.
A small gain on last year’s figures of 13,311 people and 4,548 companies, the event also saw almost 22,100 square metres of exhibition space used, which organisers claim is the largest amount in the event’s history.
The number of acquisitions executives present was 4,422, up 16 per cent on last year’s number.
Paul Johnson, director of the television division, Reed MIDEM, said: “ The 2008 edition of MIPTV featuring MILIA was notable for the increased participation of the new players who will be key to the future of our industry, such as digital media and advertising.”
