UK publisher joins Space Enterprises' long list of international licensees.
Popular pre-school brand The Hive is going into print for the first time.
Igloo Books will take the adventures of The Hive characters Buzzbee, Barnabee, Rubee and friends into the book category.
Exploring stroylines from friends and family to caring for the environment, two series of the children's show have been made to date.
The Hive broadcasts in the UK on ITV and also enjoys high ratings in Australia.
The Walt Disney Company EMEA has also picked up the show in over 150 countries and has recently started airing for 30 minutes each day on Disney Junior US.
The recent agreement with Igloo Books adds to a long list of licensing programmes for the brand, as other UK partners include Mookie as master toy and plush partner and Avanquest for interactive.
The Hive also features on LeapFrog's LeaPad children's learning tablet and the Leapster games console.
The brand has deals with Blues Clothing and Jupiter Toys, along with Ravensburger for jigsaws and puzzles, whilst a nightwear line from Aykroyds TDP has just gone into Mothercare.
Mark Hurry, Space's Director of Licensing, said: "Having a publishing deal in place is massive for any pre-school brand and to be linking up with such a progressive and imaginative company as Igloo Books is great news for us.
"This adds to a very strong existing programme and is a clear signal that the market has recognised the need for new brands to break-through into retail.
"The colour and vibrancy of The Hive combined with its success on TV gives it a real ability to stand out at retail and licensees are eager to tap into this."
