Thomson Reuters selects Laurence Gilmore and Christopher Hutchings for 2013 list.
Two Hamlins partners have been named by Thomson Reuters as 2013 "Super Lawyers".
Laurence Gilmore (right) and Christopher Hutchings (left), partners in Hamlins' entertainment media and IP department, were included in the list, which represents the top 5 per cent of lawyers in their fields of expertise.
Hamlins is a legal firm which specialises in entertainment and licensing.
This is the first time Reuters has compiled a list of leading UK lawyers, following two decades of success for its US counterpart.
A Reuters statement said: "The solicitors on the list exemplify excellence in the practice of law.
"Super Lawyers selects solicitors using a rigorous, multistage process in which peer nominations and evaluations are combined with our independent research.”"
Nominations come from solicitors, who list the top solicitors they’ve personally observed in action. Researchers then evaluate candidates by 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. The solicitors with the highest totals from each category are selected.
Laurence Gilmore was named in the Media and Entertainment Law category, whilst Christopher Hutchings was listed as a leading expert in Defamation Law.
