SPAIN: Biplano bags two more

Agency to handle Toei's Dragon Ball series and Saint Saiya properties in Spain and Portugal.
Animation studio Toei has appointed Spanish agent Biplano to handle its Dragon Ball series and Saint Saiya properties in Spain and Portugal.
The deal will cover all merchandising rights for the brands, with the exception of toy, video games and publishing categories.
"We are excited to be working with Toei Animation, one of the most respected names in animation production," said Jordi Rey, general manager of Biplano. "The company's Dragon Ball continues to rank among the world's most powerful brands, while Saint Saiya is generating excitement throughout the world on the heels of its stellar two-decade success in Japan."
Saint Saiya is one of Japan's most popular and longest running anime series, while Dragon Ball now boasts some 508 episodes.
