LA-based design studio goes bi-coastal with New York showroom.

The traditionally west-coast based design studio Mighty Fine has opened up a showroom in New York, focusing on its Doe and Mighty Fine brands.

The showroom will be headed up by Jerry Rogers, head of junior sales for Mighty Fine. His previous experience includes successful runs with junior lines such as Dickie's Girl and Bongo Jeans.

Mighty Fine is now looking to expand its men's business with the launch of two new men's brands this year under the eye of Bart Silberman, head of design, merchandising and sales for the men's division.

The firm's latest Disney partnership, Bloc 28, launched back in February - it is described as an 'emerging street artist-based line' offering a fresh interpretation of Disney characters relevant for men today. New line, the Mustache Brigade, will debut in July as an eclectic t-shirt line for the 'sneaker head' consumer.

Mighty Fine's toddler and tween divisions also continue to grow and perform well. Key licences picked up recently include Hello Kitty and Garfield, plus a partnership with Sesame Workshop.
