US: Shout Factory captures Dinosaur King

Entertainment company agrees deal with 4Kids for animated series.

Shout Factory and 4Kids Entertainment have teamed up to bring Dinosaur King to the home entertainment marketplace.

The multi-year deal provides Shout Factory with licensing rights as the exclusive home entertainment distributor for the property in the US. Multiple DVD titles, to include 49 half hour episodes, are currently in pre-production with the first due to be released later this year.

"This strategic partnership with 4Kids continues to build on our growing success in distributing some of the premier animation and family brands in the marketplace," said Garson Foos, president of Shout Factory. "Dinosaur King has become one of the most distinctive animated series on television, with a highly successful presence in many countries across the world."

Brian Lacey, executive VP at 4Kids, added: "The expertise that Shout Factory brings in the distribution and retail facets of the home entertainment business will significantly expand the success of the Dinosaur King franchise."

Dinosaur King currently airs in the US on 4Kids TV (Fox). The global broadcast line-up includes YTV (Canada), TV2 (Denmark), TV4 (Sweden), Mediaset (ITaly), RTL2 (Germany), France 3 (France), Canal J (France) and Jetix (UK, Scandinavia, Spain and Latin America) among others.
