Launch party for first new novel in 30 years attended by author and industry movers and shakers.

A special launch party for the new Paddington Bear novel - Here and Now - was held at the Peruvian Embassy Residence earlier this week.

Guests included author Michael Bond and his wife Sue; Michael's daughter and MD of Paddington & Co, Karen Jankel; the Peruvian Ambassador; Mario Santos, MD of Harper Collins Children's Books; Sue Buswell, publishing director of picture books at Harper Collins; plus Copyrights' Nicholas Durbridge and Stephen Durbridge amongst others.

Harper Collins Children's Books has been publishing Paddington stories from the very beginning, and the new book is now available in hardback.

To date, Paddington books have sold more than 35 million copies worldwide and are available in more than 40 languages.

A number of special 50th anniversary events are taking place throughout 2008. A range of licensed products will also be launched including clothing, footwear, toys, stationery, gift confectionary, garden accessories, aprons and rugs.
