NEW YORK 08: First day seminars

The conferences taking place at the Javits on Monday June 9th.
With the show proper opening its doors tomorrow, there are four conference sessions taking place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center today as a warm up.
First up, An Introduction into Licensing for the True Novice takes place between 8am and 8.45am, moderated by Woody Browne, managing partner in Building Q.
The ABCs of Licensing runs from 9am to 12pm. This will be moderated by David Jacobs, president of HiHat Media. On the panel will be Steven Bobowski (president, Equity Management); Michael Brown (VP of licensing, American Greetings); Gary Caplan (president, Gary Caplan); Ann Kearns (VP of licensing, global toys, Sesame Workshop); and Susan Miller (president Mixed Media Group, executive producer, Wow Wow Wubbzy).
How to Maximise Your Exhibiting and Attendance will take place between 12.15pm and 1.15pm, while Understanding the Legal Side of Licensing will be the final session of the day, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
This session will be moderated by Jed Ferdinand, partner at Grimes & Battersby. On the panel will be Jim Coplit (senior counsel, World Wrestling Entertainment); Martin Cribbs (director of rights representation, Corbis Rights Services); Jessica Elliott (The Camuto Group); and Charles Schnaid (partner in charge, licensing & royalty services, Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co).
