Relaunched singing pigs will appear on ITV DVD label.
The Pinky & Perky Show DVD will be released on the ITV DVD label in October following the launch of the series on BBC ONE’s CBBC this autumn. The DVD will feature the first six episodes from the 52 x 13 minute series as well as a raft of special features.
Dawn Wright, acquisitions director at Granada Ventures, commented: “Acquiring the UK DVD rights for The Pinky and Perky Show from PPC Enterprises was a natural fit for us as Granada International will be distributing the show internationally. It’s a funny and fast-paced show with high production values and we’re sure this DVD release will be as successful as the TV series is set to be.”
Mark Hurry, director of legal and commercial at licensor PPC Enterprises added: “This revived brand is gaining momentum and we’re delighted that ITV will be sending The Pinky & Perky Show onto DVD. There’s so much energy and detail in each episode and the fun celebrity characters make you want to watch it over and over again.”
PPC Enterprises holds worldwide rights to Pinky & Perky and has already secured a master toy license for the brand with Martin Yaffe under its Born to Play brand. It is next looking to extend the brand into publishing, apparel, collectables and home wares.
