New VPs appointed for both domestic and international licensing.
Discovery Communications has bolstered its licensing division, appointing new vice presidents for both domestic and international licensing.
Julie Robertson has joined the group as VP of domestic licensing, reporting directly to Discovery Commerce president and general manager Patrick Gates. She brings more than 20 years experience in brand marketing and product development and, in her new role, will be looking to manage all aspects of Discovery's domestic licensing enterprise, including new strategies for growth through complementary brand extension.
Meanwhile, Jo Edwards has been promoted to VP of international licensing, reporting to Caleb Weinstein, senior VP of Discovery Enterprises International.
An eight year veteran of Discovery's international licensing operations, Edwards has built partnerships with licensees to develop consumer product categories that are closely aligned with Discovery's core brands and properties throughout Europe, including the American Chopper and Miami Ink product lines.
In her new role, she will lead the licensing efforts in Canada and all international markets in five offices around the world. She will also work closely with the US and worldwide to drive new opportunities for key programming.
