Firm also moving to larger premises in Moscow and aiming to recruit new team members.

The European Licensing Company is to open a new office in Bucharest, while also expanding its premises in Moscow in response to market demand.

Co-founder and CEO, Hakan Durdag, explained: "We are already very happy with the reaction from the Romanian market and find Romania a promising and dynamic market for licensing, so we are looking forward to growing the business from our new base in Bucharest."

On the Moscow move, Durdag added: "We want to continue to support existing licensees and also to be able to better service potential new customers. The move is part of our long-term commitment to developing the Russian markets and those of the CIS, which are among the least developed of this region in terms of licensing."

ELC represents licensors such as Warner Bros, Cartoon Network and Marvel in Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS and now operates out of four independent offices in the region, as well as in London.

It also has affiliate offices in Istanbul and Athens.
