Turner acquires new series from Dargaud Media for broadcast on Cartoon Network.

Turner Broadcasting has acquired the new CGI series of Garfield from French producer Dargaud Media.

The 52x11-minute episodes of The Garfield Show are due to be broadcast on Cartoon Network in 2009 and will be shot in HD.

The series is timed to coincide with the character's 30th anniversary and will air in territories across Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

"We're delighted to have acquired this new CGI series of Garfield," said Cecilia Persson, VP of programming, acquisition and presentation for Turner.
