Firm bolsters licensing and merchandising slate with ZDF Entertainment property.

Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has made a major licensing, merchandising and publishing rights acquisition, signing a representation deal with ZDF Entertainment's live action show, H20: Just Add Water for Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

The 52x26, plus twox90-minute, series is aimed at tweens and is already airing with strong ratings on Antena 3's Megatrix block on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and on Nickelodeon in Spain, as well as in over 100 countries worldwide including a recent premiere on Nickelodeon in the US. A third season is currently in the works for broadcast in the second quarter of 2009.

H20: Just Add Water has already been licensed worldwide by companies such as Grani & Partners and Giochi Preziosi in Italy, developing school and beachwear. Other agreements include retail in Australia with Target for textiles, as well as the launch of an H20 Magazine and books with Panini in Germany. Universal has home video/DVD rights for Spain.

The show will join the likes of other ZDF titles Wicked Science and The Lost Treasure of Fiji, which are both part of its aim to expand its live action distribution catalogue.
