Hit pre-school show now in all significant territories in Asia.

The Illuminated Film Company has revealed that broadcasting, DVD and licensing rights to Little Princess in Japan have been sold to Chuo Eiga Boeki (Central Film Trading), one of the top televisual distributors in Japan, working in conjunction with H&M Incorporated.

TV broadcasting has quickly followed, with Kids Station taking both series (65 episodes) and beginning to air from this month.

In addition, Illuminated has also sold both series to Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) in Korea, where it will begin to air from September. Illuminated is currently in negotiations on the video, DVD and licensing rights for the same territory.

"I am especially happy to conclude these further sales, as Illuminated has always had a very strong track record of success in both Korea and Japan, with such programmes as The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, as well as the Christmas specials of The Snowman and Father Christmas that I executive produced," said Iain Harvey, producer of Little Princess.

"I like to feel that Little Princess is especially suited to both territories as she has such a distinctive art style - and of course the books by Tony Ross have proved very popular in both territories."
