The Linguaphone Group has announced the next wave of master licensees for Pingu's English.
Al-Khaleej Training and Education has signed as master licensee for the group's character-based pre-school English language course in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain.
Al-Khaleej has been running adult language training centres in the Middle East with the Linguaphone Group since 1998 and plan to launch Pingu's English at selected centres as a summer school for children aged four to seven years-old over the coming month.
The company is also building a dedicated Pingu's English School in the Seweidi district of Riyadh, planned to open in September.
Meanwhile, Awan Sensory Marketing Sdn Bhd has signed as the master licensee for Malaysia and Hatice Karahan Piskin has secured exclusive rights to develop the course throughout Turkey, launching in Istanbul in the autumn.
Derek Price, chief operations officer of the Linguaphone Group, said: "Pingu is a massively popular property and this, allied to the Linguaphone Group's won 100 year history in the language training business, has produced a pre-school English Language course with a rare potential.
"We are delighted to welcome these new partners to the Linguaphone Group, and look forward to working with them and many others in the months and years ahead."
