Science Photo Library to make its debut at the October event.

One of the world's leading sources for specialist imagery, Science Photo Library will be exhibiting at Brand Licensing Europe for the first time in October.

The firm holds a collection of over 250,000 pictures ranging from x-rays, thermograms and scanning electron micrographs to aerial views, nature shots and animals.

Photographs from SPL have been used in a range of creative ways. For example, the images have formed an important part of many Damien Hirst exhibitions, while SPL images have also been used in major branding campaigns such as Paul Smith clothing, Boots cosmetics, Anya Hindmarch accessories, Guinness, Clipper tea and on various album covers, perhaps most famously by The Chemical Brothers (pictured).

BULLDOG

"Scientific images can be exciting, colourful and even artistic - they just weren't part of most people's visual vocabularly some years ago," said Michael Marten, the founder of SPL. "Nowadays they're used in ads, on newspaper fronts, in pop videos - almost anywhere."
