Scarlett & Crimson licensing drive continues, as Ruby & Millie sign up to develop cosmetics range.
New tween and teen property Scarlett & Crimson is getting together with two of the biggest names in the beauty industry, after Coolabi struck a deal with Ruby Hammer and Millie Kendall to develop a line of gift cosmetics and toiletries.
Coolabi, which co-owns and licences Scarlett & Crimson, is understandably thrilled to be working with Ruby & Millie, which was the first major UK cosmetics brand to launch in 30 years and is a huge success at retail.
The Scarlett & Crimson line will be branded with the names of the characters and will be designed to reflect the key characteristics of the brand: non-conformist, alternative and individual with a strong sense of style.
It will be targeted at leading UK High Street retailers, with the intention of going in-store in the fourth quarter 2009, following on the heels of the first titles in the Scarlett & Crimson publishing programme.
"Ruby Hammer and Millie Kendall are famous for their originality, style and in-depth knowledge of the beauty industry - and of course for a brand that changed the face of British cosmetics," said Janet Woodward, Coolabi's head of licensing. "Both have received MBEs for services to the cosmetics industry which are not handed out lightly.
"Individuality and friendship are two key values in the Scarlett & Crimson brand and Ruby & Millie epitomise those qualities. We are thrilled to be working with them."
Millie Kendall MBE and Ruby Hammer MBE added: "We are delighted to be developing a line of cosmetics for Scarlett & Crimson, which is simply the coolest brand to hit the teend market. These girls are modern, edgy and the kind of girls you would have wanted as your friend when you were 12."
