Aardman characters to spearhead ad campaign for the prestigious store's new Bristol outlet.
Aardman has signed a deal with department store group Harvey Nichols for its popular characters Wallace and Gromit to spearhead a print advertising campaign for the opening of its new store in Bristol.
In a series of ads shot by Giles Revell for creative agency DDB London, Wallace, Gromit and Lady Tottington will have a makeover by one of Britain's most prestigious shops.
Harvey Nichols has revamped the wardrobe of the inventor and his sidekick, with Wallace appearing in a Dolce & Gabbana fitted shirt and an Alexander McQueen cashmere jacket - something of a change from his usual green tank top.
Gromit, meanwhile, sports a navy silk Paul Smith scarf, a Duchamp purple stripe silk scarf and Ray Ban wayfarer sunglasses, while Lady Tottington gets the chance to dress up in Christian Louboutin shoes, Alexander McQueen dress and a metallic bronze 'Puffy' bag by Zagliani.
Sean Clarke, head of marketing and licensing at Aardman, said: "I've never seen Wallace and Gromit looking so chic and stylish. I think it only fitting that W&G, a great British institution, celebrate another institution in retailing, Harvey Nichols, coming to Bristol.
"We were thrilled to work with Harvey Nichols on this project and I'm sure it will provide a great platform to launch the store in Bristol."
