Former 20th Century Fox and Aardman man, Stephen Moore joins independent Brit distributor.

Abbey Home Media has appointed Stephen Moore as a partner and shareholder of the company.

Moore has been a prominent figure in the international entertainment industry, having held senior positions at 20th Century Fox and Aardman Animations.

"Since coming back to London from Los Angeles, I have had a real desire to become a stakeholder in a business with the pedigree and track record of Abbey," Moore commented.

Set up in 1989 by Anne and Ian Miles, Abbey Home Media specialises in distributing programming for leading pre-school franchises. These currently include Horrid Henry (Novel), Sesame Street (Sesame Workshop), The Magic Roundabout (Pathé), Spot (Penguin) and Paddington Bear and The Wombles (Cookie Jar's FilmFair catalogue).

In addition, it also owns IP including SuperTed, Wide Eye - which includes a BBC commission and is developed from the internationally successful Early Learning programme - and Baby Bright, the infant learning range.

Moore continued: "Anne and Ian have built a very special company over the last 20 years and I intend to retain its essential values while building a new creative platform. My experience with Fox and Aardman has put me in a very strong position to help take Abbey on to the next level."

Ian Miles added: "Anne and I are overjoyed that Stephen has decided to join Abbey as our partner and a substantial shareholder."
