New Horrid Henry DVD deal inked

Novel and Abbey Home Media sign joint venture agreement for further DVDs.
Novel Entertainment and Abbey Home Media have signed a new deal for the exclusive UK DVD distribution rights to the second series of CITV animated series Horrid Henry. The DVDs, complete with new episodes, will start rolling out from summer 2009.
The deal comes on the heels of the announcement of a new Horrid Henry stage show, which Novel will take on the road in the UK this autumn with Watershed Productions in association with Sheffield Theatres.
"The Horrid Henry TV series has proved to be a major hit with kids on TV and DVD in the UK and we are excited to be working with Abbey again to bring the brand new episodes out on DVD for the first time," commented Mike Watts, Novel's MD.
Ian Miles, chairman of Abbey Home Media Group, added: "Abbey is thrilled to join forces again with Novel to distribute the exciting Horrid Henry animated series on DVD, working closely with our retail partners to achieve DVD sales to match the success of the books and the TV series."
