Firm secures UK home entertainment rights to include all physical and electronic formats.

Produced by Mackinnon & Saunders, the 30 x 11 minute animated comedy series targets 6 – 9 year olds.

The show is currently one of the top rating shows on CBBC. As part of the deal, ER has concluded the option to distribute further series and spin offs as the show develops.

ER is launching the first Frankenstein’s Cat dvd ‘The Cat From A Kit’ on October 20th for Halloween. The initial DVD will contain 8 x 11 minute episodes selected from the award winning TV series and will also contain bonus content including an interactive game.

Julia Mallinson, director of home entertainment, Entertainment Rights, said:

“ER’s Home Entertainment Division is committed to acquiring new hot properties which are guaranteed to have a strong shelf life in the UK dvd market. Frankenstein’s Cat is already proven to be successful pulling in big audiences around the world on CBBC, France 3 and ABC (Australia).

“We are delighted to have acquired the rights to the brand and it is a perfect fit for ER’s kids and family programming portfolio, which spans over 3,600 hours of high quality content.”

Frankenstein’s Cat started out life as a children’s picture story book, created by Curtis Jobling. Then followed a TV series, a co-production between Mackinnon & Saunders (UK) and Kayenta Production (France), distributed internationally by CCI Entertainment (Canada).
