Featuring the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus, new animation Bolt is due to hit cinemas in early 2009, and Disney Consumer Products is already lining up a licensing drive for key categories.

Toys, publishing, stationery and homeware among other areas will be covered for the super-dog flick.

In addition to collectable figures, there will also be an Animal Rescue play-set and a Trailer play-set. Talking plush Super Bark Bolt shouts three different super barks, while Super Hero Bolt saves the day with laser eyes, leaping action, wagging tail and sonic bark.

Becki Fleming, director of franchise marketing at DCP Europe, said: "Disney is confident that the Bolt movie has all the right criteria to make it a hit amongst children of all ages and can be transferred perfectly to a fun and exciting product range that captures the adventurous spirit of the film."
