Chorion represented property smashes book sales milestone.

Princess Poppy has been established as one of the most popular brands for young girls, passing the milestone one million book sales mark in just under three years.

Random House Children's Books launched the Princess Poppy series, by Janey Louise Jones, in March 2006. Chorion represents the licensing and merchandising rights and is currently in discussions on a number of new deals including apparel, fashion accessories, stationery, toys and games and general gifting. The launch is planned for autumn/winter 2009.

The Princess Poppy series now includes over 30 books, with titles available in six different formats: picture books, young fiction, audio books, gift books, DVD and activity books.

"Princess Poppy is a publishing phenomenon that is not TV reliant, but is currently growing simply through word of mouth and realisation that the books contain stories and illustrations which children can identify with.

"We enjoy a very close and effective working relationship with Random House and know, from experience, that a successful and innovative publishing programme is the foundation to the long-term success of a property of this type."

Publisher Fiona MacMillan added: "Random House Children's Books is thrilled to have published Princess Poppy with such success and to see her popularity just grow and grow. We are looking forward to working with Janey on the continued development of Princess Poppy for 2009 and beyond."
