Firm to develop worldwide DVD, licensing and merchandise drive for girls' property.
Growing FitzRoy Media has teamed up with UK-based Blonde Pilot, the creator of Secret Wings, for a development deal for the girls' property.
Already a strong selling brand in the stationery and back to school markets, FitzRoy will now look to develop entertainment projects and interactive website content for Secret Wings, along with a worldwide licensing and merchandising campaign targeted at four to seven year-old girls.
FRM and Blonde Pilot are already in development on an animated series due for release on DVD in winter 2010, plus two new Secret Wings chapter books are planned for release alongside it.
In addition, licensing agents have been appointed for Germany, Greece, the Middle East, Benelux, Korea, China, Taiwan and South East Asia.
Agents are also due to be announced shortly for France, Spain/Portugal, Italy and Scandinavia.
To date, four major multi-territory licensees have been signed up: Time Concepts (watches, clocks, room decor, etc); Prosperity Industrial (beads, jewellery cases); eNice (3D pen dolls, toy cosmetics, play sets); and Sandylion (stickers, pads, pens, stationery).
Products from these companies will be introduced in Europe beginning from mid-2009 and progressively marketed worldwide as the Secret Wings merchandising program expands.
