The countdown to the MCV Awards 2010 has begun – with date, venue and categories announced.

Females working in the toy, entertainment and licensing industries all welcome to London event.
The first London networking event for women working in the toy, entertainment and licensing sectors kicks off next week.
Women in Toys has been running for the last decade in the US, with members including the likes of Bandai, Dreamworks, Hasbro, Infantino, Leapfrog, Mattel, Mega Brands, Nickelodeon, NPD, Sesame Workshop, The Licensing Company, Toys R Us, Ty, Vtech and Warner Bros among others.
The European kick off event will take place on Tuesday October 28th at the University Women's Club, London between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The cost is £20 for non-members and £10 for members.
A number of other networking events will then follow in 2009, at London Toy Fair, Nuremberg Toy Fair, New York Toy Fair and Brand Licensing Europe.
The aim of Women in Toys is to help members develop key contacts within similar businesses. Members receive discounts to various WIT events including the Wonder Women of Toys Dinner which is held during NYC Toy Fair.

Appreciate all women in toys aren't Mums and it is of course impossible to suit everyone ...... but perhaps someone could have researched the date so that it didnt fall in 1/2 term week...... when a portion of Mums will be spending time with their families.
Can someone also please advise if we buy the tickets on the night or if they can be purchased somewhere beforehand? The web site link is very US orientated and I can't find the info.

7 days, not a great deal of notice for a mid week event! It can be difficult at the best of times being female and a mother in business without short dealines for up and coming events of interest. Half term too.
