Tretchikoff artwork ready for licensing

Firm eyeing up potential for Russian painter to enter the licensing arena.
The copyright owners of Vladimir Tretchikoff's art are looking at ways to expand some of the Russian painter's pieces into the licensing arena.
The rights are owned by Tretchikoff's family and managed by his granddaughter Natasha Mercorio and Andrew Franks.
The family's aim is to have the legacy of Tretchikoff live on well into the 21st Century by making the artist and his work known worldwide. Tretchikoff died in 2006, leaving a prolific collection of 1950's prints.
Franks and Mercorio are now seeking European manufacturing and distribution partners to help spread the word. The company has picked up on the current vintage/retro trend in London, South Africa and Australia, while it is also working with African fashion and interior designers and is planning to launch the Tretchikoff movie in 2010.
His artwork - which can be viewed by clicking here - is split into a number of categories including birds, abstract, flowers, nudes, portrait and still life among others.
