Red Kite boosts development

Children's production company appoints new development producer to help bolster portfolio.

Scottish screen animation company Red Kite has appointed Catherine Williams as development producer.

Williams - who brings experience from a number of production firms including Granada Kids and Darrall Macqueen - will work closely with senior management to help develop and produce a diverse range of programmes for the international market.

During her career, Williams has worked on a number of high profile productions including Pocoyo (CITV), My Parents Are Aliens (CITV) and Bear Behaving Badly (CBBC) among others.

Ken Anderson, MD and co-founder of Red Kite, said: "With her experience, creativity and passion, Williams will be a huge asset to Red Kite. She will play a vital role in expanding our programming slate and will play a key part in driving the company forward and making our future plans a reality."

Red Kite's most recent work included Dennis and Gnasher (BBC) and The Imp, a 65 x one-minute series of animated shorts (Cartoon Network US and Disney Japan).
