The third season of TV series is commissioned as a raft of licensing deals are signed.

Series three of The Fairies has been commissioned by Channel 7 and Nickelodeon (Nick Jr 2 UK and Nick Jr Australis following a strong series one and two.

The third series will go into production in February next year and will be broadcast by mid 2009. Weta Workshop will be creating the sets, ABC Commercial has picked up distribution rights and Haven Licensing has been apointed as Licensing and Marketing agent.

The Fairies stage show is also touring across Australia, merchandise is hitting shelves and the retail stores and dance studios are being franchised across the country.

The flagship store in Adelaide welcomes around 500 children weekly and boasts a Fairlyland room which hosts dance lessons, birthday parties and school holiday activities.

Following its success, the franchise will now roll out beginning with a Sydney store in March 2009 and an additional nine stores by June. A further 50 regional and city stores are due to open by 2010.

The Fairies website also features one of the biggest online fairy shops in the world with nearly 200 items already listed and new products listed daily.

Creator Jen Watts said: "The pink world of The Fairies is looking very magical indeed. With our overriding mission to fulfil every dream, every love, of every little girl, we strive to produce an age-appropriate and adored concept that is full of friendship, fun, music, dance and loads of sparkles."
