New programming means fresh consumer products opportunities for licensees.
ITV Global Entertainment has revealed a new UK broadcast deal with the Sci Fi Channel for Thunderbirds.
As well as new content, further consumer product opportunities will be available for international licensees.
The Sci Fi Channel - the UK's only dedicated science fiction and fantasy broadcaster - has renewed its agreement for the 32 x one-hour Gerry Anderson produced series.
The deal also includes two further series created by Anderson - Joe 90 and Stingray. The series will broadcast from spring as part of the network's prime time line up, alongside the likes of Star Trek, Heroes and Angel.
"Thunderbirds has been entertaining the world for decades and the trusted brand continues to deliver new and dedicated fans to all it touches, including consumer products - which currently features fashion, toys, blu ray DVD and gaming," said Giles Ridge, head of brand and product development at ITV Global Entertainment.
"We're looking forward to developing new and exciting licensing partnerships with Thunderbirds for 2009."
Over Christmas, BBC2 aired Stingray The Reunion Party, which was a new compilation episode. This was followed by a 60-minute documentary, All About Thunderbirds.
