Pre-school show 3rd and Bird from Little Airplane Productions is readying for its launch into the consumer products arena.

BBC Children's Books will be publishing a range of four tie-in titles in August, including two storybooks, a magnet book and the Little Library format.

A full merchandise programme is planned for early 2010 - encompassing toys and clothing. However, the BBC books, along with the BBC Children's DVD - Bird's the Word - are the only available licensed products due before this Christmas.

The Bird Theatre and Fly Muffin storybooks will be £3.99 each, Tree Top Magnet will be £6.99, while the library of six mini books will be priced at £4.99.
