Firm ties with Penwizard and E1 for personalised publishing deal.
Ladybird and Penwizard are moving into the print on demand publishing sector, securing a deal with E1 Entertainment to use its popular Peppa Pig character.
Ladybird has published a range of Peppa Pig book formats since 2005, enjoying strong success with over 1.1 million books sold to date (source: Nielsen Bookscan).
The new agreement with Penwizard will allow Ladybird to offer consumers the ultimate in personalised gifting. Visitors to www.peppapigandme.com will be able to place their child into the character's world by creating and naming an avatar based on their appearance.
The end result is a unique book starring the child, which can be printed and mailed within a couple more clicks.
"We are delighted to be working with Penwizard as Peppa takes her first steps into personalised publishing," said Nicola Dowle, business development director at Ladybird. "We have had enormous success with Peppa in traditional book formats and we are certain that she will perform equally well in this dynamic, interactive environment."
Richard Adey, MD of Penwizard, added: "Peppa Pig is a fantastic brand and Penwizard is thrilled to have the opportunity to licence a personalised book."
Go to Playgroup is the first title to feature on the new site, available from June for £14.99.
