Deal will see trading card games arrive based on comic books and upcoming films, including Iron Man 2.
Upper Deck has secured a long-term licensing deal with Marvel Entertainment, granting it the rights to produce trading card games, miniature games and trading cards based on the Marvel universe.
The first wave of product is due to roll out in January 2010. Upper Deck will be creating items based on both Marvel's comic books and its upcoming feature films, including Iron Man 2, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America and The Avengers.
"We are extremely excited about the possibilities that this newest partnership opens up for us," said Scott Gaeta, director of new business development at Upper Deck. "Gamers and trading card enthusiasts alike will benefit greatly as a result of the collaborative efforts by both companies."
Paul Gitter, president of consumer products, North America at Marvel, added: "The Marvel Universe and Marvel Studios' upcoming slate of feature films are ideally suited for trading cards and trading card games that will appeal to a wide audience."
