Novel Entertainment is expanding into radio, working with Fun Kids to create a Horrid Henry weekly show.
The show, to be broadcast on Fun Kids every Sunday throughout August at 4pm, will see Horrid Henry taking up the role of DJ and will feature tracks from Henry’s own album, Horrid Henry’s Most Horrible Album Ever.
This is Novel’s second radio production and follows a CBeebies Radio commission for pre-school science show Rockit’s Pocket, which broadcast earlier this year.
Lucinda Whiteley, creative director of Novel Entertainment said: “We are excited to be extending the Horrid Henry brand onto radio in a deal with a channel dedicated to kids and their families.
"Henry is fun and irreverent and kids will love listening to his weekly mix of music and entertainment.”
Novel continues to expand Horrid Henry’s presence across all media in the UK and internationally. Produced by Lucinda Whiteley and Mike Watts, the 2D animated television is its most successful show ever.
A total of 104 episodes are now available following CITV’s commission of a second series. Broadcast deals have already been secured with Disney Channel in France, ZDF Germany, RTE Eire, RUV Iceland, NRK Norway and YLE Finland, MNet in South Africa, RTP Portugal and Digiturk in Turkey.
Henry is also currently on the road with the next leg of the touring stage show ‘Horrid Henry – Live and Horrid!’ produced by Novel Entertainment and Watershed Productions in association with Sheffield Theatres.
It has been translated into 22 languages, where Henry has assumed many different national identities including the gloriously named Pablo Diablo in Spain and Rico Le Peste in Italy.
