KidScreen Summit nears
Samantha Loveday Dec 4 2007, 9:50am
US-based event for children's TV industry spotlights global brand building with new sessions.
The KidScreen Summit will be celebrating its ninth year in 2008, with the conference boasting an extensive programme on building global entertainment brands.
New for next year's Summit will be a Consumer Products Forum, a Kid Insight Track and a Multiplatform Mania Track. Highlights from the three-day programme will include the favourite 30 Minutes With session (featuring more international broadcasters than ever), Speed Pitching and a special Pitch It! competition featuring projects themed around health and fitness.
"The business model for kids TV properties is continually changing and the days when a good idea was enough to get a show on air are long gone," said Jocelyn Christie, director of events at KidScreen.
"With that in mind, the conference aims to focus on the key elements that can take a great project and make it into a global brand, across TV, multimedia platforms and licensing and merchandising."
KidScreen Summit 2007 attracted more than 1,300 executives from around the world, with 803 companies, 200+ buyers and 142 licensing execs making the trip.
The 2008 conference will run from February 13th to 15th at the Hilton New York.
