Apple, the BBC and EA Mobile were among the big winners at the 2009 Mobile Entertainment Awards, held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on October 1st.

The ceremony rewards innovation and creativity in the mobile content sector.

It attracted guests from over 120 companies in media, technology and entertainment from around the world.

The awards recognised achievement in the following categories: development and publishing; services; handsets and operators. The winners were decided by a judging panel drawn from the ME contacts book and consisting of around 400 execs from all sectors of the business.

Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment magazine, said: “The ME Awards event is a chance for the mobile content business to celebrate its amazing progress into the mainstream. And with the whole world obsessed with apps and widgets, it really feels like the industry is at the centre of things. Congratulations to all the winners.”
