Monty Python makes Moonpig debut

Greetings cards for comedy brand now available through print on demand website.

Stlll riding on the hype from its successful 40th anniversary celebrations, the Monty Python licensing drive continues apace, with greetings cards for the property now available through print on demand website Moonpig.com.

Fans can now send personalised cards featuring 12 pictures and dialogue from classic Python sketches and movies.

Part of the marketing to support the licensing programme includes a special Monty Python mention in Moonpig.com's January 2010 newsletter, which is emailed to all their customers.

"Working with Moonpig is another example of how well Monty Python can work across a variety of sectors - it's a classic British comedy brand that still has a huge following across generations and that's a very strong platform for us to build on," said Mark Hurry, legal and commercial director at PPC Enterprises.

Licensees for Monty Python include Dickens & Brown and Famous Forever Clothing (t-shirts), J Fox Sox (apparel including lounge pants, boxers and 'my brain hurts' baseball caps), Pyramid (posters), Danilo (sound cards) and Underground Toys (voice key chains).
