Branded electronics and video games accessories on way following new agreement.
A new wave of products including earphones and speakers featuring Sesame Street characters is being showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, following a deal between DreamGear and Sesame Workshop.
DreamGear is well-known in the US for its video games accessories and i.Sound brand of speakers and accessories for iPod, iPod and MP3 players.
Characters including Elmo, Bert, Ernie and Big Bird among others will appear on character earbuds, earphones and speakers and, initially, a line of accessories for the Nintendo DSi portable gaming systems.
"DreamGear and Sesame Street offer experiences that can both entertain and inspire families," said Richard Weston, COO of DreamGear. "We are thrilled to be combining Sesame Street's iconic characters with our extensive line of DreamGear and i.Sound products."
The products will be released in the first quarter of 2010 in the US, Canada and Mexico. DreamGear will also be rolling out products featuring Plaza Sesamo characters, which is how the show is known across Latin America.
"We are pleased to work with DreamGear on introducing families to a new line of accessories featuring some of their favourite Sesame Street characters," added Maura Regan, Sesame Workshop's senior VP of global licensing.
