Some strong growth at Bright Group International has led to the appointment of James McKnight as an illustration agent for the group's publishing arm.

McKnight has spent the past six years at HarperCollins, where he held various roles across design, product development, sales and marketing.

"On paper, this role, utilising not only my creative but my commercial skills and experience, seemed perfect; after meeting the team I knew it was," McKnight said. "I know that my drive and passion for great illustration and creative children's publishing has found its true home."

Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, MD of The Bright Group International, added: "We felt the time was right to appoint a new picture book agent, thus ensuring the continued success of our core business."
