V8 Supercar World Champion Craig Lowndes will make his debut on Roary the Racing Car this Friday on Australia’s ABC1 at 8am followed on ABC2 at 1pm.

Lowndes will voice the character, Conrod - a big throaty new Aussie V8 racing champion. Conrod’s episodes will screen as part of an exclusive broadcast deal with Chapman Entertainment in the UK and ABC TV for Roary the Racing Car series two.

As part of the Conrod initiative, there will be a range of merchandise rolling out in all major retailers including Meet Conrod the V8 DVD launching in March by Magna Home Entertainment; Talking Conrod Car launching mid-year by Funtastic; and a Conrod book also launching mid-year by Harper Collins. Lowndes will also be appearing at various shopping centres around Australia to promote the merchandise range.

Roary, Big Chris and Craig will also be racing into Melbourne for Australia’s premier sporting event, the 2010 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix from March 25th to 28th 2010. Lowndes will be visiting the Roary Pit Zone for meet and greets across the four days.

With over 10,000 fans visiting the popular ‘Roary Pit Zone’ at the 2009 Grand Prix, the Roary marquee will again be offering a wide variety of free high octane entertainment including concerts, races, games, face painting, treasure hunts and competitions.
