Toei Animation is looking to grow the profile of animated comedy series Dr Slump - Arale, hiring Edebé Audiovisual Licensing as its broker in Spain.

Edebé will look after the property in Spain and Andorra; it has all merchandising rights except publishing.

The series has been adapted from the Japanese comics of the same name.

"We are very pleased to get Edebé as a new partner and we look forward to working with them on expanding the Dr Slump - Arale brand in this key region," said Kanji Kazahaya, MD of Toei Animation Europe.

Irene Civico, property development manager at Edebé, added: "Dr Slump - Arale was a huge hit in Spain and we grew up with these unforgettable characters, so we are really honoured to be appointed by Toei as this licensing agent for Spain."
