Coolabi calls for industry to get behind Madonna tribute act in new BBC1 talent show.
BBC1's new reality talent show The One and Only kicked off last weekend, although the licensing industry's very own Evelyne Brink almost made an early exit.
Brink performs as Madonna and gave a near perfect rendition of Material Girl. However, when it came to the public vote she found herself in the last two, along with Rod Stewart, meaning she had to perform again in the 'sing off'. This time her fellow contestants saved her, meaning she will perform again this coming Saturday (January 19th).
"Evelyne put her heart and soul into her performance and really was great, despite her grandfather having passed away the day before," said Janet Woodward, head of licensing at Coolabi, where Brinks held the role of licensing executive.
"I was amazed to see her in the bottom two and think perhaps that, because she is German, she lacks home town support. So come on everybody, tune in next week and vote Evelyne."
The show is aiming to find the UK's best tribute act, with a three-month contract in Las Vegas being the first prize.

I thought she was very good on Sa****ay night - she really sounded like Madonna and the makeover was uncanny. She certainly didn't deserve to be in the bottom two. I'll be voting this Sa****ay.
