Both collections offer self-assembly kits targeting children and adults.

The Airfix range focuses on the development of flight and automobiles. The Twentieth Century Flight range includes five self-assembly model planes, while the Automotive collection features three cars including the Ford Model T.

Lucy McCredie, licensing manager for the museum, said: "It is fantastic to have signed two such high quality licensees for the self-assembly kits and puzzles - an area that is very important to us.

"These new ranges will offer individuals a unique opportunity to learn and understand about what they are building, as well as the challenge and satisfaction of producing the finished product."
